To use the UV blacklight flashlight effectively, it is recommended to wait until nightfall, turn off the ultraviolet flashlight, close the shades, and shut the door. Ensure that the black light flashlight is emitting a constant, strong blue color light on standard white printer/writing paper.

To power the Escolite UV blacklight flashlight, it requires 3 AA standard alkaline batteries (not included). Rechargeable batteries are not recommended, as the size and voltage may not be compatible. To extend the flashlight's life, it is recommended to remove all batteries if you do not intend to use it for a long time.
